This project was a great introduction to the real world; a world based around electricity. Our group (partners) was told that we had to create an art show using circuitry and electronics. We first, had to learn what a circuit was, before we started coding. We learned how to use breadboards and how to read a circuit diagram in the first two work packets. We then moved onto the Arduino coding. Our final outcome was a light that flashed to the beat of the song "Still Alive" from the video game Portal (also includes code and diagram):
In this project, we learned a lot about circuits and coding. YAY.
Circuit: loop of conductive material from one battery terminal to the other
Resistance: the amount of slowing of current through an obstacle (measured in Ohms)
Current: flow of charge/electricity through circuit (i=v/r) (measured in Amps)
Voltage: potential energy of difference from one side of component to other (v=ir) (measured in volts)
Power: amount of flow with a potential energy difference (p=vi) (measured in watts)
Coding:
Voidsetup: runs code under this once
Voidloop: runs code under this in a loop
If/else statements: If something is true, else
If/then statements: If something is true, then
Reflection:
I did quite poorly on this project. I did really well on my leadership, even too much so. I would come up with most of the ideas and not really communicate it well with my partner. I did most of the work, but I didn't explain what I was doing to my partner, so he didn't learn much of the material I was working on. However, I did do well on my empathy, and tried my best to explain what I was doing, but in the end, I feel that I let him down for this project.
