Description:
For this project, we looked at a specific ways the body attains homeostasis, like blood glucose levels. We couldn't actually test this, due to lack of resources and also not wanting to actually prick our fingers, but we instead, researched average results and created our own data using these. We researched the hormones involved, results, and why it acts the way it does.
Content:
Homeostasis: Equilibrium; the way the body acclimates to attain a middle ground. For blood glucose levels, whenever the blood glucose levels are too high, the pancreas produces insulin to assist absorption of glucose into fat. When the blood glucose is too low, the pancreas gives off glucagon, which releases the glycogen into the system.
Reflection:
For this project, I was able to work with friends, which (shown in other projects) can be a virtue and a sin at the same time. I was able to cooperate well with all of my friends, since we are all buddies and what not, so when we would discuss what we were going to research, coming to a conclusion was very easy. Also, I could lead easily, since all of my friends were also very cooperative. I would tell them a piece of data to write down and they were very compliant and would do so quickly. HOWEVER, when we couldn't find a subject to research, we spent much precious time doing nothing important. I also could have communicated better when one of our members was out for a while, I did not go out of my way to update said member.
